E/Pop and Mirador

Private, Secure Instant Messaging Hosting

E/POP:  E/Pop is a chat tool that will allow referring doctors--or any satellite office or partner--to send you xrays (and ANY other info) in realtime - no waiting, no risk, no problems.

This is NOT the compromised, spyware and spam-ridden junk the kids use to avoid doing their homework, this is a private, safe and secure tool that you and your staff can use to send business information back and forth with your participating partners.  Not only that, but you and your staff can send E/Pop messages back and forth throughout the office.  This can be VERY useful.

We purchase the E/Pop license from www.wiredred.com.  They provide the software (sold in 5-user lots), and I provide the "hosting" or linking of participating partners.  That means that servers in my office here in Washington direct the E/Pop traffic.  Neither I nor any third party can view the content of your E/Pop communications.

A FEW OF THE CURRENT E/POP PARTICIPANTS INCLUDE:  Dr. Bix..y,  Dr. Moz....n,  Dr. Lo...z,  Dr. He.....k,  Dr. Wo....,  Dr. Jo...r,  Dr. Bil...s,  Dr. Cal.....o,  Dr. Youn...,  Dr. Fran....is,  Dr. Mac.....k,  Dr. Stro....g,  Dr. Ben....n,  Dr. Bar...n,  Dr. Ave....a,  Dr. L...e,  Dr. Del C....e,  Dr Yell....h, Dr. Ch...g , Dr.  For.....o,  Dr. Ebra......n,  Dr. G....e,  Dr. Jac....n,  Dr. Feh.....n,  Dr. Kas....n,  Dr. Sha......g,  Dr. Tu...k,  Dr. Sch....., Dr. Cha..n,  Dr. Jim.....z,  Dr. Tars.....o,  Dr. Po.....y,  Dr. Da...y,  Dr. Bene....t,  Dr. R....b,  Morgan Financial,  Monterey Peninsula Court Reporters,  Employers Resource Network,  Cutter Company,  Mail Too,  Haskins Realty,  Meda Counseling,  NWCDP,  Priority One Flower Shippers,  Mountain View Surplus and MORE!

We can now provide E/Pop connectivity to ANYBODY.  That means that we can put E/Pop on your laptops so that you can communicate with your office or home from a hotel room, a conference room, a Starbucks or anywhere you have Internet access.  In addition, we can put E/Pop on any staff member's home computer.  This does not require a housecall, nor does it require any hardware.  It does NOT give anybody the ability to "see" or remote control your office.  This is the same, simple E/Pop communications that you are already familiar with!

This new solution does NOT give anybody the ability to remote control your office or anything like that.   This is a completely new, private Internet-based service I'm offering that goes through my secure, protected servers here in Washington.

This service is by REFERRAL ONLY.  We E/Poppers are a vey elite community!  Have an existing E-/Pop user contact me if you would like to add this service to any of your personal laptops, staff member's home computers, an associates' PC or even an entire remote office full of people you'd like to communicate with!

if your office now transfers or intends to transfer PII (Personally Identifiable Information) or other sensitive information via this service, be sure to keep reading.

MIRADOR INSTANT MESSENGER

has all the features of E/Pop Basic, but adds remote control, file transfer, reminder notices, VOIP (you can talk to the recipient and leave voice messages!) and is VERY configurable.

You can purchase Mirador Instant Messenger by visiting www.e-securion.com (click image below)

I am still evaluating Mirador, but so far, I really like what I see!  More info coming soon . . .

Mark L. Selman makes NO claims of any kind regarding E/Pop, Mirador and HIPAA compliance.

 HIPAA compliance is YOUR responsibility.

HIPAA requires that private medical information sent outside the office meets the following criteria:

1)  It must not be visible by third parties (must go to the recipient without being viewable by anyone else).  This is why it's not legal to send personally identifiable medical information via e-mail.  E-Mail is not in any way secure.

No-one but your intended recipient can view your E/Pop communications when they are piped through my server.  It goes only to the person you address it to.

2)  It must be encrypted.

Both E/Pop and Mirador Instant Messenger are encrypted using Industry Standard encryption.

3)  You must be able to provide upon demand, a report showing what PII was sent from your office at any given time.

HIPAA compliance is YOUR responsibility.  While both E/Pop and Mirador allow you to save your sent/received messages, if you intend to send/receive PII, then it is your responsibility to archive this info for later retrieval.  You can simply print the messages, or better yet make a note in the patient's chart whenever PII is sent.

The best way to ensure HIPAA compliance is to make sure that the data you send electronically can not be used to PERSONALLY IDENTIFY THE INDIVIDUAL PATIENT.
